Dog Obedience Training?

I would like some opinions on the Toowoomba Dog Obedience Club. I want to train my dog, but I had a bad experience with the first phone contact. I was wondering if a) it is worth continuing with this trainer or b) are there any other dog trainers in Toowoomba or surrounds?

we have had one dog go through traing with the Toowoomba Dog Obedience and have had great success, aslo currently taking second dog through same school, and all is going well, only sugestion is stick it out and remember that there is a clown in every circus, you just need to find one you can associate with.

Hi

I too had a bad experience with the contact person for toowoomba dog obedience. Unfortunately Mrs Avril White who is the phone contact is a 70 year old volunteer for toowoomba dog obedience. she is very dedicated to taking on new members but a little set i her ways. i actually hung up on her after being abused but after ringing around found that it was the only place to train my dog. i had to swallow my pride and ring back lol.

you will be glad to hear that she does not attend the classes due to age but all the members that go on a tuesday night for training and are just lovely!!!! it became a social outing for me as much as a training session for my dog. i say just make the phone call, drop off the $5 registration fee and do it!!!! you wont regret it!!!!!

As above, don't let the ol bird worry you, she does it to EVERYONE! I have only been going a couple of weeks and I'm loving it. Our trainer is great and very patient. Hope this helps you decide.

Aylward's Dog School is in Ebenezer (near Rosewood) which is a little out of the way from Toowoomba but I have found it's worth the drive as the trainers are great (Mike Aylward is a Master dog trainer... I think he's one of only 2 in Oz) and best of all, it works!
The classes are on the weekend (you can choose which day suits best) and are during the day which is especially nice in winter.
They are developing a website www.aylwardsdogschool.com.au or ph 5464 1810 if you're interested.
